Our Story
It all began with a simple idea:
The idea came when she opened a small space for her intuitive coaching practice in Geraldton High Street and started showcasing local creators’ products. She quickly realised there was a gap — so many talented local artists and makers, yet so few places helping them share their work with the world, a place to get together sell and be supported, experiment and be seen.
At the same time, Geraldton had many empty buildings waiting for a little love and imagination. With negotiations discussions and a property owner willing to take a chance on something new — together, we created Geraldton’s first creators and wellbeing hub on Marine Terrace, a collective of local talent that transformed an empty space into a vibrant, soulful destination. Within eight months, the building not only came alive, it sold — proof that creativity really can transform places and perceptions.

When that chapter closed
Ersilia found a new home — a little laneway that no one really used to walk through. The owners supportive of her project let her do what she does best, to get creative setting up spaces to bring out the assets of the building and back to life. With the support of the new owners, she reimagined it — turning what was once overlooked into something special: a welcoming sanctuary in the heart of Geraldton.
We started small, with one studio for art and locally made products. Within just six weeks, the empty upstairs rooms were filled with passionate creators — a collective of six to seven artists and makers, each bringing their own spark of creativity to the space.
Then, with the help of the owners, we literally cut a hole in the wall to make room for a café — and suddenly, the laneway came alive. The café has become a relaxed, sunlit spot where locals and travellers alike can unwind, connect, and soak in the creative energy.

The Vision and Community
The Laneway Studios is more than a place — it’s a movement of creative regeneration. We continue to be proactive in nurturing Geraldton’s cultural heart through projects like the Urban Art Trail, connecting artists and visitors through street art, studios, and storytelling.
We also host creative wellbeing experiences and guided electric bike tours, inviting people to experience Geraldton’s art, spirit, and beauty from a new perspective.
At the core of it all is our belief that creativity transforms — not just spaces, but people and communities too.
I wish to share that feeling with many others.
